My Summer Bucket List — Things I’m Doing for the Girl I Used to Pray To Be
Summer isn’t just all about vacations. it's a season of light, intention, and letting your heart exhale. I don’t want this summer to just pass me by. I want to feel it. I want to show up for it. So, I created this bucket list, not to pressure myself, but to stay grounded in the little joys, the healing pauses, and the kind of peace I’ve been craving for years.
Here’s what’s on my summer bucket list:
1. Have a phone free morning
Just me, God, matcha, and peace. No scrolling. No noise. Just presence.
2. Take a solo day trip to somewhere I’ve never been
Cute coffee shop? Ocean views? A bookstore in a small town? Yes to all of it.
3. Journal outside at least once a week
Let my thoughts breathe under the sun. Let the wind carry what no longer belongs.

4. Swim in something that’s not a bathtub
Whether it’s a lake, the ocean, or someone’s pool. I want to float, splash, and remember how to feel light.
5. Wear the outfit I always “save for a better day”
Because today is already good enough. And I’m done waiting.
6. Read a book that feeds me
Not just a “to-do” read. I want something that makes me pause, underline, and whisper yes under my breath.
7. Watch the moon and stars without checking the time
Because sometimes the most sacred moments are the quiet ones we don’t post about.
8. Make one new recipe
Fresh berries, herbs, or whatever’s in season. Slow and intentional cooking.
9. Create a “summer playlist” that matches my mood
Soft mornings, slow evenings, and feel-good drives, every season needs its own soundtrack.
10. Laugh until it hurts
Around a fire pit. On a road trip. With the people who see me and still choose me.
11. Send a handwritten note to someone I love
Because texts are quick, but handwritten words carry soul.
12. Go to a local farmer’s market
Touch the fruit. Talk to the growers. Feel human again.
13. Dance in my kitchen like life is sweet again
Because it is. Even with the mess. Especially with the mess.
14. Revisit a childhood summer tradition
Whether it’s watermelon on the porch or a sunset drive with the windows down with my parents favorite music playing. I want to remember who I was before life got heavy.
14. Pray barefoot under the sky
Because sometimes healing doesn’t need words, just quiet and bare feet on the earth.
