Soft Mornings: How I Start My Day
There’s something I’ve grown to protect with everything in me:
my soft mornings.
They’re the space I give myself before the world asks anything of me.
No pressure. No noise. Just peace.
I don’t do complicated routines.
But I do slow. I do intentional. I do soft.
What My Soft Mornings Look Like
1. I stay unplugged.
I don’t check texts or social media right away. I need a minute, just for me, before I let the outside in.
2. I pray.
It doesn’t have to be fancy. Just me talking to God, giving thanks, asking for peace, letting my heart be heard.
3. I journal or sit with my thoughts.
Some mornings I write. Other times, I just sit in silence and breathe through whatever is showing up. It helps me get honest about how I’m really doing. The Journal I’m currently using.

4. I make something warm.
Usually matcha, sometimes tea or lemon water. It’s not just about the drink, it’s about holding something warm in my hands and letting it ground me. This is my favorite matcha and creamer.

5. I move slowly.
No rushing. I stretch, take a walk, or just listen to music while I get ready. My mornings are more about energy than productivity.
6. I speak gently to myself.
Especially on hard days. I remind myself I’m doing the best I can. I tell myself I’m allowed to move at my own pace. I let softness lead.
Soft Morning Ideas for You
Everyone’s version of slow will look different, but here are some ways you can create your own soft morning ritual:
Wake up 10–15 minutes earlier just to sit in quiet
Play calming music- a playlist that speaks to your soul
Light a candle or incense—create an atmosphere that feels peaceful
Write one thing you’re grateful for each morning
Stretch or breathe for 5 minutes before starting your day
Read a devotional, poem, or affirmation that centers you
Take your time getting ready, even if that means doing less
So if life feels heavy, start here.
With one soft morning.
One breath. One small act of care.
Because how you start your day matters, and you deserve a beginning that feels safe, slow, and full of grace.
