Learning to Be Okay in the In-Between

We spend so much of life waiting for the next thing — the breakthrough, the answer, the clarity that makes everything make sense again. But somewhere between what was and what’s next, there’s this quiet space that feels like nothing is happening.

And yet, it’s in that space — the in-between, that the most meaningful transformation begins.

The Middle Isn’t a Mistake

There’s a strange ache that comes with being in transition. You know something has ended, but the new thing hasn’t yet revealed itself. It’s the space where you feel both ready and restless, where faith whispers “trust,” but fear keeps asking, “When?”

We tend to treat the in-between like a waiting room, something to hurry through. But maybe it’s not a delay at all.
Maybe it’s a sacred invitation — to breathe, to listen, to soften.

The truth is, God often does His best work in the quiet places we overlook. The pause isn’t punishment. Sometimes, it’s protection. It’s preparation for what’s next.

When Life Feels Suspended

It’s uncomfortable when everything feels uncertain. You’ve outgrown what was, but you can’t quite see where you’re going. You’re doing all the right things — praying, showing up, trusting, and yet, nothing seems to move.

But here’s the gentle truth: stillness doesn’t mean you’re stuck.
There’s growth happening beneath the surface. There’s alignment forming in the unseen. The in-between is where your roots deepen, even when the branches look still.

How to Find Peace in the Unfinished

If you’re in a season of waiting, you don’t need to rush your way through it. Try these quiet reminders instead:

  • Pray, even when you don’t have the words. God hears the silence too.

  • Journal what you’re releasing and what you’re still holding. Sometimes peace begins with honesty.

  • Rest without guilt. You don’t have to earn your way to clarity.

  • Be where your feet are. Today is still sacred, even without all the answers.

The in-between is not wasted time. It’s where your faith learns to breathe again.

The Beauty of Becoming

One day, this space you’re standing in — this tender, uncertain middle, will all make sense. You’ll look back and realize it was never about the waiting; it was about the becoming.

So let yourself be here.
Let the in-between soften you, not break you.
Let it teach you to trust timing that’s wiser than your own.

The space between endings and beginnings isn’t empty — it’s holy.
It’s where you remember who you are, and where God reminds you that you were never forgotten.
